Have the kids dip thier bananas in chocolate (or any butter) and then in the toppings, put it on a tray, and freeze. Enjoy!

Egg Muffins

Protein packed and super cute and customizable

From Kosher.com

Grease a muffin tin, and fill halfway with beaten eggs. On the side, prepare an array of toppings such as chopped spinach, shredded cheese, diced onion, diced peppers, diced tomatoes, sliced mushrooms, olives and seasonings like salt, pepper, garlic powder and smoked paprika. Feel free to experiment with your kids' favorite flavors or have them try something new. When all the egg muffins are topped and seasoned, bake at 350° until set.

Strawberry Shake

Smoothies

The ultimate kid-friendly drink

They are so simple to make; we all know that. Have your kid make it with his/her favorite fruits inside! Put some frozen fruit (think: berries, mangoes, pineapples) in a blender, add some milk of your choice, a banana, squeeze in some lime or lemon juice, and blend! Make it a whole bar or restaurant...we'll leave that creativity to you.

Two Fresh Pizzas

Make-your-own-pizza

Perfect lunch or dinner for kids

Set up the pizza bar (or have your kids do it):

  • Pizza dough: make your own, buy the dough from the store, or buy a pizza crust.

  • Sauce: You can put just one sauce, or a few different, depending on your kid's preferences

  • Cheese: Get creative!

  • Toppings: Olives, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach, pineapple...whatever your kids like!

  • Start baking! Encourage your kids to make patters, faces, or pictures on their pizzas. Bake and enjoy!

Orange pops

The healthy version of popsicles that your child will love

  1. Squeeze the juice of 3-4 oranges and put it in a container.

  2. Either you can put in popsicle molds, or pour it into individual cups and stick a spoon in. Freeze.

  3. Store the container in the fridge, and pour into a cup and freeze whenever you want

Cheese and Olives

Cheese Cereal

It is a  bit of a wacky idea, but is the best snack!

  1. Spread a cereal (I've tried corn flakes and Cheerios) on parchment paper, then sprinkle shredded cheese on top.

  2. Toast for 5-7 minutes.

Mock Champagne

Perfect Shabbos treat

In champagne glasses, pour 1 : 1 ratio white grape juice to sparkling water. Garnish with frozen grapes and there you have a kid-friendly champagne!

Cereal Cookies

Crunch. Yummmm!

Make a batch of cookie dough, and replace the chocolate chips with your kid's favorite cereal. You kids will have lots of fun! If you have cookie cutters, that would be a great addition, although your kids can make their own shapes.

Kids Recipes: Refreshments

Mango Sorbet

You might have to help and it might be time-consuming but so worth it!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups mangoes (see note)

  • 1 cup sugar and

  • pinch of salt dissolved in

  • 1 cup of water

  • 2 tablespoons lime or lemon juice

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, pour in 1 cup sugar, a pinch of salt and 1 cup of water.

  2. Turn the fire to medium-high, and stir the mixture constantly until it looks like clear water (about a minute)

  3. Coarsely chop 2 mangoes (I have only tried it with frozen, but this should work) or use 4 cups of frozen mangoes, thawed.

  4. Pour mangoes, sugar water, and lime or lemon juice in a blender or a food processor fitted with the "S" blade

Turn into sorbet

  1. If you have an ice cream maker, then freeze following it's directions. If not:

  2. Line a baking sheet with foil, spread the mango puree on baking sheet, put in freezer for about an hour (when its partially frozen)

  3. Blend it until smooth, put it back on the baking sheet and freeze it

  4. Repeat the processes of blending and freezing twice more for a total of 3 times.

  5. Freeze in an airtight container until ready to serve

Notes:

  • You can replace 2 cups of mangoes for 2 cups of peaches (4 cups fruit total)

  • The process of making it without an ice cream maker is way easier than it sounds-I prepped the whole recipe, and started blending and freezing later in the day when I had time.

  • Add in whatever else you want! Try putting in strawberries, oranges, or apples and let us know how it turned out!
