Popcorn

DIY Carnival

This works if you have over 6 children in your family/class/camp. It's nice to have a theme, but if not, it's fine. Throw in some tickets and prizes, and you have a full-blown carnival! Here's ideas for booths:

Garbage bag race: Have 2 kids go in garbage bag, and have them race to the finish line!

Guess the number of jellybeans: Have a jar of jellybeans or any small object and have each kid guess how many are in the jar. The one who guessed the closest gets the jar with its contents.

Photo booth: Have the kids organize props and costumes from around the house and a backdrop. Give them a camera and have them snap away.

Spoon balancing: Put the spoon in the kid's mouth, round side outwards. Fill the spoon with small objects such as Cheerios, and see who can keep all the objects in his/ her spoon.

Pennies in the flour: Fill 2 bowls with flour and pennies (or any small object) and see who can get all the pennies first!

Pin the crown on the princess: Draw a princess or anything to fit your theme, blindfold the child, and have them pin the crown to the princess's head.

Popcorn/cotton candy/ice cones: If you have any of these machines, use it to really bring the carnival feel!

Have the older kids make posters for their booths, and let the party begin!

Clean Up the Backyard

A super fun way to clean up anything, really. They'll love it!

Leaf hunt: Split the kids into teams (or on their own), and see who can collect the most leaves in a certain amount of time. Glue them together in some wacky project at the end or make some kale chips (it looks like leaves) for the winning team! You can also do rocks or scrap pare-whatever is messing your space up!
